Dark flamed, custom step down ferrules, exclusive cork mortise reel seat with fiddleback maple over cork, made by Joel Lemke. Hand turned flor grade cork grip, light wire snakes, wrapped in antique gold tipped black, as a nice touch I inlaid a jungle cock feather under white silk. Retail $1000 (SOLD)

Modified Young Midge Taper SOLD

Just finished this today. Based on the PH Young Midge Taper, but modified to 6'6". Tortoise shell flamed, blued and silk wrapped nickel silver ferrules, exclusive Joel Lemke nickel up lock slide band cork mortise reel seat, burled maple insert. I turned the cork for the mortise and the thin cigar cork grip on my lathe from flor grade cork rings. Light wire snake guides, mildrum stripper guide. I wrapped the rod in antique gold, with black tipping. Includes a custom sewn rod sack, and extruded aluminum rod tube. Price $1000. Prototype Bamboo ferrule SOLD

This 795 is a recent finished prototype or concept that I had. I thought it would be a great cross over opportunity; I have a bunch of Tonkin cane piece laying around and needed a spigot ferrule for this blank. I ran the cane through the blank just as you would with glass or graphite, chucked it on the lathe and turned the now cane spigot to the proper size then sanded with 1000 grit paper to just under a perfect fit to allow for the varnish. I am really happy with the result. Now we have a wonderful casting 7’9” 5wt 2 piece s-glass fly rod, with a unique bamboo spigot ferrule.

I took the rod out today, lined it with a wff5 and did some lawn casting the ferrule fits perfectly the rod has great backbone, and a nice semi-soft tip. I think I will build another along the same scope in the future.
